If the service "securely stores your photos, files, notes, passwords and other data in the cloud," then they are stored somewhere physical by Apple and it should be easily searchable, findable, and downloadable from any of your Apple devices, AT ANY TIME AND WITHOUT HAVING TO 'SYNC' ANYTHING. the fact that its literally impossible to cancel the downloads from it is absolutely ridiculous i dont want to turn it off because i actually do want to use it. please, does anyone know how to make icloud drive act like it was designed by a sensible normal person? all i see on reddit is people saying "oh thats just how its designed deal with it or turn it off" well then the design is stupid because i cant use my computer properly. i tried disabling it just so i could update and that doesnt even work because its just decided to ignore me entirely and is still trying to download every single file on my icloud drive onto my computer. then when i actually want to download something on icloud its too busy doing whatever the fuck it likes to constantly download in the background and it takes like 30 minutes to actually get to the file im trying to use. when i delete it well guess what fucker its redownloading again instantly. i literally cannot update my computer right now because it is literally impossible for me to delete all of the shit icloud drive is downloading or stop it from downloading. this is the only cloud service ive ever seen in my life with this problem. all i want is for icloud drive to ONLY download files when i click on them, so i can actually use the hard drive on my computer for literally anything. i've had this issue for years now and i have never found a solution. i want icloud drive on so i can download my files from it if need be but i dont want it to instantly become some data vampire demon taking up quite literally 100% of the space on my hard drive at all times. Sorry if i sound ticked off but this is driving me insane.
